STPA Legislative Needs and Concerns

Washington State Psychological Association has found to elicit the most concern legislatively:

Medicare payments-
Continued protection of confidentiality in the therapeutic relationship, both with disclosure of information from files and with bills that require reporting colleagues to authorities for suspected misdeeds an effort by APA to start rating the health insurance companies. I wanted to pass on that we are very, very excited about that and hope to hear more about that initiative soon. We are eager to participate as needed.

Additional items mentioned by our membership include: requiring pharmaceutical companies to disclose payments and honoraria to providers; the medicine return bill; national parity that preserved strong state parity legislation, and the children's safe product act.
