STPA Legislative Needs and Concerns

In my personal opinion, the leading legislative priorities for Illinois over the next year are 1) getting Mandatory CE for Psychologists into our licensure act and 2) parity legislation. However, my hunch is that my Legislative Committee would say that RxP would be in the top two based on where they spend much of their time.

Our biggest legislative issue has been prescriptive authority although we have not been able to move the bill very far. The bill was heard in the Senate Insurance Committee, which was interested enough to put it into a subcommittee. However, due to a focus on the budget, this committee never met.
